Collection of Children

It is essential that parents/carers always notify a member of staff of their arrival and hand over their child to a member of staff so that the child can be officially signed into Leelas Ladybirds Nursery.

We must be informed if anyone other than the parent/carer or the persons mentioned as authorised to collect your child changes. You would then need to set a nursery password which you would have issued to the person collecting the child so that person and that person only are authorised to collect your child.

Settling Sessions

We understand that starting nursery or entering any new environment can be very unsettling to a young child and parent/carer also, to help with this change we offer settling sessions for both child and parent/carer can spend time in the nursery to help feel settled and get used to the routine before starting their full or part-time sessions.

Due to the environment of the nursery it is paramount for the well being of other children that any sickness is reported to your child's nursery carer. Should a child have an infectious disease, such as an eye/ear infection or sickness and diarrhoea, they should not return to nursery until they have been clear for at least 48 hours.

Children should not be left at nursery if they are unwell. If a child is unwell then they will prefer to be at home with their parent/carer rather than at nursery with their peers.

We follow the advice given to us by our registering authority and exclude specific contagious conditions, e.g. sickness and diarrhoea, conjunctivitis and chicken pox to protect other children in the nursery. Illnesses of this nature are very contagious and it is exceedingly unfair to expose other children to the risk of an infection.

We administer Calpol and all other forms of medication only after the parent/carer has completed and signed a medication form confirming the instructions, that the medicine is prescribed to that child only and the time of the last dosage given.

Notice Period

To effectively manage our staffing and resourcing we require 4 weeks notice in writing if you wish to cancel your booking or change the sessions your child attends. This is applicable both prior to starting and during your time with the nursery. If you have an individual query with regards to changing your child's booking please contact us to discuss in more detail.
